Stematix™, Inc. is a United States-based company that specializes in providing adult stem cell research, technologies, products, therapy, and treatments to patients around the world. Incorporated in 2008, Stematix’s mission and business model rests firmly on the foundation of regenerative medicine, and the company operates under the mindset of making regulated adult stem cell therapies available to patients quickly and affordably. Additionally, Stematix’s business strategy is guided by the following three principles: improving cost effectiveness of stem cell treatments, creating cures for debilitating diseases, and improving access to advanced treatments for the general public. In order to achieve this vision, Stematix believes in leveraging relationships between four key partner areas, including 1) government and regulatory, 2) industry and technology, 3) academia, and 4) private doctors and patients. While Stematix is a fairly young company, its business model and innovative practices have helped the company propel adult stem cell treatments into the commercial sector. This business vision is supported by the fact that Stematix was awarded the Most Promising New Technology Company by the Rice Alliance for Technology and Entrepreneurship in 2008. The company is led by Chief Executive Officer and Chairman Mr. David Bonner, PhD. Bonner has been the company’s CEO since its inception in 2008 and holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from University of California at Berkeley. Overall, Stematix works toward opening up the current targeted stem cell technologies to a greater sector of researchers and medical practitioners as well as patients. Stematix believes this comprehensive approach to providing commercial solutions will help integrate the field of stem cell research and technology and help to advance the progress made in stem cell research on a world stage.

The Commercialization of Stem Cell Research

Stematix operates on the principle that regenerative medicine can be successful as a commercial medical option for a large number of patients. Since 2008, Stematix has focused on key areas in adult stem cell research that have established treatment protocols that are close to approval by regulatory bodies. Stematix works with international researchers and innovators to take their newly developed regulated products and services to the next level and prepare them for clinical use by leveraging their established relationships to help move the products into the hands of medical authorities and practitioners around the world.

This established pipeline of partnerships helps Stematix connect researchers, government agencies, doctors, and clinics to each other and fast-track the therapies for use in patients. This methodology benefits patients by speeding up the availability of adult stem cell therapies, which in turn helps provide a broader range of treatment options to those affected by diseases and illness that can be helped with regenerative medicine. Stematix believes this process is beneficial to the healthcare industry as a whole by treating people earlier in their illness and potentially avoiding more costly treatments as a disease or illness progresses.

Stematix currently has five main regenerative products at various stages in its process. Two of the products are currently being marketed and available to patients, and all five of the products are well beyond the first three phases of the company’s development cycle. These treatments include Regenexx™ used for orthopedic procedures, AmnioClear™ for wound covering, Allostrome™ allogeneic stem cells for myocardial infarction treatment, Allostrome™ used for joint and cartilage repair, and Autologous myocardial infarction treatment.
