International Society for Stem Cell Research

THE INTERNATIONAL SOCIETY for Stem Cell Research (ISSCR) defines itself as “an independent, nonprofit organization established to promote and foster the exchange and dissemination of information and ideas relating to stem cells, to encourage the general field of research involving stem cells and to promote professional and public education in all areas of stem cell research and application.”

The ISSCR has several committees, which serve a variety of functions for the institution itself. Committees range from finance to ethics and from public policy to public education and government affairs.

The ISSCR annual meeting is an opportunity for individuals to learn about novel research in all areas of stem cell science. The meeting provides a forum for scientists to discuss and present their research as well as for participants in the arenas of academia, industry, and government to discuss the special issues that stem cell science raises in their fields.
