Rau, Fedor Andreevich (1868–1957)
Director of the Arnoldo-Tretiakov School for the Deaf in Moscow
Fedor A. Rau was director of the Arnoldo-Tretiakov School for the Deaf in Moscow. He was also the founder of special education training at the university level and organized the first Russian congress on deaf education in 1910. From 1922 to 1948, he was the head of the faculty of deaf education in the Moscow State Pedagogical University and the author of many textbooks and manuals for deaf schools, including the ABC Book for Deaf Children (1903).
