Geomorphological evidence that indicates the former position of the margin of a glacier or ice sheet including, for example, many types of moraines, kame terraces, ice-contact slopes and associated ice-contact fans/ramps, sandur and trimlines. Ice-margin indicators are used in the reconstruction of the maximum extent of former glaciers and also subsequent recessional stages.
