Triangulation
The idea that using different theories, methods, data, and investigators will uncover different aspects of a problem. Triangulation is often viewed as a source of validity and as strengthening a study. The idea is to look at the problem from a different perspective, with different tools, with different sources of data, or with different researchers in order to compare with the original interpretation. The results either strengthen the original interpretation or lead the researcher in a different direction.
