Student Diversity
The cultural differences among students based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, religion, language, and ability/disability. It is a demographic reality of American public schooling. Moreover, demographic forecasting predicts that by 2030 half of all school children will be children of color. Student diversity, which can be related to learning-style differences and differences in academic outcomes, requires that teachers become more knowledgeable about diversity.
