Social Justice
The idea that all humans should be treated equitably regardless of their individual circumstances. Such circumstances include a person's ethnicity, race, gender, religion, and socioeconomic status. Laws that support and enforce this equitable treatment of all people are considered social justice laws. Social justice laws strive to benefit individuals and groups, or societies, alike. The government of a society should be responsible for ensuring social justice, thus ensuring a higher quality of life for its citizens. While social justice encompasses economic justice (equitable distribution of wealth), it is often incorrectly equated with it.
