A specialty field of professional psychology. Training involves significant work in psychological consultation, neuropsychoeducational assessment, evidence-based interventions, program development and evaluation, and research methods/data analysis. Many practitioners work in educational environments, mental health centers, and social service/correctional facilities. Independent professional practice occurs at the doctoral level, but individuals with an educational specialist degree are eligible to practice in school environments.
