School Psychology
A specialty field of professional psychology. Training involves significant work in psychological consultation, neuropsychoeducational assessment, evidence-based interventions, program development and evaluation, and research methods/data analysis. Many practitioners work in educational environments, mental health centers, and social service/correctional facilities. Independent professional practice occurs at the doctoral level, but individuals with an educational specialist degree are eligible to practice in school environments. For more information, see Fagan and Wise (2007).
