Public Order Offense
An act that has been criminalized because it is seen as being disruptive to the orderly functioning (or moral standards) of a community. Public order offenses are typically the nuisance offenses, such as disorderly conduct and public drunkenness. Some also characterize consensual crimes (prostitution), victimless crimes (drug use), and vice crimes (gambling) as public order offenses.
