Prejudice and Discrimination
A rigid, overly simplified, and unfair generalization about a person or a social group. It can be positive or negative and is based on false or incomplete information. It typically is based on stereotypes, such that all members of the group are assumed to have a specific set of traits or characteristics. Prejudice leads to discrimination, an action or omission expressing disdain and/or prejudice and directed toward one or more persons due to their demographic affiliation(s). Acts of discrimination can be blatant or subtle.
