Interview (Education)
A method of data collection, in which the interviewer asks questions of the interviewee(s). Interviews require that the interviewer be skilled at asking questions, fully listening and probing when necessary for clarity, detail, and shared understanding. Interviews may be structured, semistructured, or unstructured. In structured and semistructured interviews, the questions are predetermined, while unstructured interviews are more informal, with more opportunity for variations in answers. Data collected during interviews may be captured through audio or video recording or in hand written notes.
