Early Childhood
A period or a stage of human development from two to six years of age, preceded by infancy and followed by middle childhood. During this period, children known as preschoolers grow more slowly in overall body size than they did in infancy. Their brain development, particularly in the left hemisphere, supports fast language skill development. Their attention span continues to improve, and their recognition memory becomes very accurate. Their motor skills are refined in terms of body balance and control of hands and fingers. In the meantime, they begin to show a sense of morality and establish peer relationships.
