Contraband
Materials or objects that are illegal to possess. The term is derived from the Latin contra, meaning against. Such objects can be dangerous, such as guns, chemical warfare agents, and so forth, or illegal, such as stolen goods. In correctional facilities, contraband is used to connote objects that inmates are not allowed to possess.
