Cloning
The process of replicating DNA, resulting in the creation of an identical structure or organism. Rife with ethical concerns, reproductive cloning, which involves the transfer of a nucleus from a donor egg to a nonnucleus cell, may result in certain DNA mutations. The first mammal to be successfully cloned was Dolly the sheep, in 1996; she died six years later.
