Career Development
The purposeful accumulation, progression, and management of multiple factors (e.g., educational, physical, sociological, psychological, political, economic, and chance factors) by individuals and organizations to positively influence individuals' attitudes, behaviors, and the significance of their “work-related self.” Development continues throughout one's life span. Career development involves continual assessment of work patterns and change within both individuals and organizations. Individuals regularly re-examine how they are affected by various factors, and they change and reevaluate their roles as workers.
