The ability to do things without thinking about them. This ability requires learning, repetition, and practice. When the skill is mastered, the mind can simultaneously focus on other activities or thoughts. Examples include walking, riding a bike, reading, and writing. It is measured by processing speed or accuracy of responses of the secondary task (e.g., riding a bike) that is performed simultaneously with a primary task (e.g., thinking about a math problem).
