The role of gender in the daily lives of individuals is ubiquitous. Along with race, gender is a visible trait upon which individuals make judgments of others and that impact their relationships with others and themselves. From the moment a young boy or girl is born, she or he and her or his parent(s) are inculcated with messages of appropriate behaviors and style of dress.
