Oversees the Radiological Emergency Preparedness Program to ensure that the health and safety of citizens living around commercial nuclear power plants would be adequately protected in the event of a nuclear power plant accident; the Chemical Stockpile Emergency Preparedness Program (CSEPP), a partnership between the FEMA and the U.S. Dept. of the Army that provides emergency preparedness assistance and resources to communities surrounding the Army’s chemical warfare agent stockpiles; and the Federal Radiological Preparedness Coordinating Committee, a national-level forum for the development and coordination of radiological prevention and preparedness policies and procedures.
