Serves as liaison between business and industry and the workforce investment system, a network of state and local resources that connects workers to job opportunities and helps businesses recruit, train, and maintain a skilled workforce. Manages the president's High Growth Job Training Initiative with the goal of preparing workers for high growth and high demand jobs. Targeted industries include advanced manufacturing, aerospace, biotechnology, health care, and information technology.
