Hospitalization and psychosocial data collected in the National Cooperative Inner City Asthma Study are used to demonstrate suppression. The 2 x 2 x 2 contingency table example provides an opportunity for showing how suppression relates to confounding, and teaching how confounding affects linear regression and logistic regression differently.
