Professor Susan Ayers discusses the psychology of medicine and how stress affects the body. Stress can be linked to physical disorders that are caused either by stress or by other factors that arise from stress, such as smoking or drinking. Ayers argues that it is important for medical professionals to have an understanding of psychology to give more accurate diagnoses and treatments.
