With the rapid growth of youth development initiatives in recent years has come an increased demand for evidence about their effectiveness. This has posed a particular challenge for community organizations that lack resources and expertise to employ conventional evaluation approaches but nevertheless find that their funding is contingent on demonstrating positive results. Evaluation approaches are clearly needed that can adequately meet the information needs of both program funders and operators.
