The starting point for this chapter is the idea, that epistemology, theory and practice cannot be separated from each other and dealt with as independent matters. The majority of the literature on management, leadership and organizational development however operates from a division between theory and practice: the first step is to know the theory, the second is to learn how to apply it. Noted social psychologist, Kurt Lewin questioned this understanding in his widely recognized saying ‘There is nothing so practical as a good theory’ (Gergen, 1994, p. 50).
