Introduction

In employing a grounded theory (GT) methodology, we aim to develop an integrated ‘middle-range’ theory that is grounded in and ‘fits’ the data and which generates relevant, applicable, and useful analytic explanations (Charmaz, 2006, 2014; Glaser & Strauss, 1967). The goal of this chapter is to assist researchers who are considering using GT in a study in thinking through important design considerations and decisions, particularly, but not only, from a constructivist GT perspective.
