Applications of Evolutionary Psychology in the Treatment of Mental Disorders

In recent years, there has been an outpouring of attempts at evolutionary hypotheses of mental disorders. Different authors have proposed evolutionary explanations for depression (Durisko et al., 2015), anxieties (Gilbert, 2001; Nesse, 1998), schizophrenia (Crow, 2000), and personality disorders (Glenn et al., 2011; Gutiérrez et al., 2013; Hertler, 2014; Molina et al., 2009; O'Reilly et al., 2001), to name a few.
