This chapter builds mainly on a research project on how trained staff understand Danish pedagogical practice, which I carried out, supplemented by relevant literature studies. The aim is to make visible the special Danish contribution to the field of early childhood education and care (ECEC), pedagogic work and professional understanding, viewed from an international perspective.
