The small kingdom of Swaziland is one of the poorest nations on Earth. With well over half of its population living in poverty, the government is doing little to turn the tide. Environmental factors frequently cause food shortages for the poorest residents. While nonprofit organizations are trying to help lift the Swazi people out of poverty, without a major shift in policy, their efforts are unlikely to succeed in the long run.
