Rutgers University
Located in Newark, Rutgers University is formally known as the State University of New Jersey. Rutgers is a pioneer in stem cell research and is particularly known for its stem cell therapies developed to treat brain and spinal cord injuries. Stem cell research at Rutgers is chiefly carried out through the W. M. Keck Center for Collaborative Neuroscience and the Stem Cell Research Center (SCRC). The recent additions of the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and the New Jersey Medical School to Rutgers University have brought new researchers and resources to stem cell research and enhanced the school’s international reputation. Each year, Rutgers researchers play a major role in a symposium dedicated to sharing new stem cell research knowledge and technologies.
