Genentech

Genentech, Inc. is a corporation specializing in biotechnology, with headquarters in South San Francisco, California, in the United States. The company is a subsidiary of Roche and was acquired by the group in 2009. As of August 2013, Genentech had more than 12,300 employees. In July 2014, the company acquired Seragon at a value of up to $1.725 billion. Genentech was founded in 1976, and the current leadership is made up of Ian Clark as the chief executive officer, Hal Barron as the managing director, and members of the board, among them Richard Scheller, Frederick Kentz, and Denise Smith-Hams as head of human resources.
