Parent Management Training
Parent management training (PMT) is an evidence-based psychotherapeutic intervention originally designed to impact treatment outcomes for children and adolescents who displayed various dysfunctions in behavior where such dysfunctions cause pervasive difficulties in academic, social, and mental functioning. PMT is a comprehensive treatment protocol that has several theoretical underpinnings and unique principles that have been researched extensively over the last few decades. PMT has been used with various age-groups and populations ranging from children of incarcerated parents, stepfamilies, children with developmental disabilities, and specific ethnic minority groups.
