Therapeutic alliance is defined as the strong emotional bond that is created between therapists and clients, and it is considered the cornerstone of healing as clients engage with the therapy process and enact change. The strength of the alliance is characterized by a sense of trust between clients and therapists, the belief that the process is collaborative, mutual agreement on tasks and goals, and the clients’ perception that the therapist is personally invested in helping the clients meet their goals in therapy.
