Mental health personnel is an umbrella term used for health-care professionals, practitioners, service providers, and contracted individuals who offer services for the purpose of improving an individual’s mental health. Since the 1990s, a rising number of students come to college with serious mental health concerns. Given the significant burden of mental illness among students, mental health personnel working on college campuses offer a promising venue for prevention and treatment.
