The news media refers to the product and systems of newsmaking and delivering the news to the general public or a target public. Media may include print media (newspapers, newsmagazines), broadcast news (radio and television), the Internet (online newspapers, news blogs, etc.), and social media. At a certain level, news media relate to the corporate reputation of individual components of reputation rather than reputation’s aggregated effects. This entry discusses the three approaches of news media and their role in corporate reputation management.
