Professional counselors, the counseling profession, and the client population that we serve always have had, in their own ways, an interest in what “Works.” Early on, our efforts at identifying the most effective practices, or “best practices,” focused on the development of theoretical models. Over the past decade, there has been an emerging definition of best practices that is quite different.
