Testicle, Undescended or Solitary

Diseases, congenital anomalies, cryptorchidism (the undescended testicle), trauma, and their treatment may leave a child with a solitary testicle. When these youths come to the office for clearance to play sports, especially contact-collision sports, their reproductive future is at stake. A decision must be made as to whether it is safe to allow them to play.
