Dance Injuries and Dance Medicine

Dance medicine is the much younger and less well-endowed stepsister of sports medicine. As a clinical specialty, its origins can be traced back to the early 1980s, when a few pioneering orthopedic surgeons became associated with major ballet companies, mainly in the English-speaking world.
