Utah

Utah became the 45th state to join the United States on January 4, 1896. In April 2010 its population was 2,763,885, which was an increase of 23.8 percent from 2000. Utah's population growth rate ranked third among states over the past decade and its median age in 2010 was 29.2, compared to the national median of 37.2. Salt Lake City, the state's capital and largest city, is often referred to as the Crossroads of the Western United States. Utah ranks sixth among the most urbanized states and has a diversified economy that includes information technology, professional and business services, tourism, manufacturing, trade and transportation, government services, education, and natural resources and mining.
