Music Education

Music education is a field of study primarily associated with experiences related to the teaching and learning of music. Predominant opportunities in the study of music education include public and private school programs continuing to the postgraduate level and private instruction. Music education is a multidisciplinary subject encompassing not only the study of music but also art, history, foreign languages, philosophy, and sociology.

In the United States, there has been a long tradition of the inclusion of music within the school curricula.
