Earning Potential and Education

Earning potential in relation to a person's level of education is the focus of much discussion. While the cost of a college education continues to rise, many are stating that the cost is money well spent when the earning potential of particular professions is considered. Further, earning degrees beyond the bachelor's level is thought to increase that earning potential. Men and women see increases in their salaries with the acquisition of more advanced degrees, even though the ratios representing that growth are not equal. A gap exists between men and women with regard to salaries and overall earning potential.
