Forum for Sustainable and Responsible Investment

The Forum for Sustainable and Responsible Investment (US SIF) was founded in 1984 as an industry group for individuals, professionals, and organizations in the United States that use social, environmental, and other governance criteria in making financial investment decisions. Until 2011, the group was known as the Social Investment Forum (SIF).

Sustainability, impact, and other concerns are often included in the investment process. Members include individual investors, mutual fund companies, research firms, investment management and advisory firms, financial planners and advisors, banks and credit unions, brokers, dealers, community development organizations, and nonprofit associations. Asset owners such as pension funds, foundations, and other groups are also represented.
