Modern mothers have been confronted by a number of new choices, as well as ethical and moral dilemmas, raised by medical, reproductive, social, Internet, and workplace technologies. Reproductive developments have opened up the possibility of parenthood to infertile couples and other groups, such as single women not seeking a relationship, or gay couples.
