Measurement Issues Concerning a Personality Model Spanning Temperament, Character, and Experience
Personality research (i.e. the study of individual differences in affect, cognition, behavior, experience, and learning) has had a considerable impact across the whole of psychology and its applications. Nevertheless, the study of personality is split by different research foci (i.e. theories and perspectives) that traditionally appear to be incompatible with each other. This chapter aims to contrast the biological, social-cognitive and experiential foci, and propose a hybrid model of personality and learning that uniquely also places similar emphasis on theory and measurement.
