The Context of School Psychology
Venezuela is located in the northern part of the South American continent. It was discovered in 1498 by Christopher Columbus and conquered and colonized by the Spanish kingdom. In 1811, Venezuela declared its independence from Spain, and after many wars, the country was finally liberated from Spain in 1824. Subsequent civil battles occurred during the remainder of the 19th century. Toward the beginning of the 20th century, Venezuela achieved social and political stability, based on a democratic government that fostered the construction of a modern country, including a universal educational system, social development, and better training.
