Asia and Transnational Organizations
Asia and transnational organizations

Asia is one of the great regional realms of the modern world where a distinct geography has resulted from human societies interacting with their natural environments. A particular focus in this chapter will be development of a geographical perspective on this area of the world through use of a case study approach describing select aspects of Asia's regional human and physical character, assets and liabilities, connections and barriers, and potential and prospects for the future. A concluding section comments on the extent to which Asian societies are exploring new political and regional institutional agreements linked to, yet distinct from, the nation-states that Asia comprises.
