360-Degree Evaluation
A 360-degree evaluation is a type of personnel evaluation strategy in which an individual evaluates him or herself based on a set of criteria (knowledge, skills, attitudes), as do the individual's supervisor and peers. The strategy may also be applied to evaluands other than individuals, such as programs or organizations. A gap analysis illustrates the difference between how the individual perceives him or herself and how others perceive the individual. Feedback that is “360 degrees” may be used for coaching, formative evaluation, and organizational development.
