Score Card

A score card is a system of recording performance, usually statistics. The score card is primarily meant to provide descriptive information, although it may also be an impetus for improvement. A baseball score card, for example, builds a system of descriptive information about the performance of individual players, the team, select positions, and so on that can be used to describe the game but may also suggest comparative performance. For example, recording pitches and then comparing that across the game with how deep in the pitch count hits occur provides an indicator of the pitchers' performance. Score cards are used often in business and industry for strategic management and improvement and are sometimes referred to as the balanced score card.
