School Health

Communication is central to school health issues and processes. Research concerning school health communication includes three broad areas: (1) interpersonal communication among school health staff members, students, parents, and other health providers; (2) school-based health campaigns and interventions; and (3) public health policies that affect school personnel and students. A uniqueness of the school context is that health per se is not the focal purpose of schools. Obviously, education is the focus of schools.
