Peabody, Elizabeth Palmer (1804–1890)

Elizabeth Palmer Peabody devoted herself to a variety of causes and movements to reform society by improving the individual. Her greatest contribution was to early childhood education, most significantly her establishment and promotion of English-speaking kindergartens.
