Individuals with Disabilities Education Act
The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), which is a supersession of the Education of All Handicapped Children Act of 1975 (Public Law [P.L.] 94–142), requires states and their school districts to provide individuals with disabilities a free and appropriate education.
