Contingency Contracting
A written and signed agreement—between teacher and student, with parents' involvement—containing a target behavior, performance expectations, consequences of compliance and noncompliance, and a timeframe. Being written, it eliminates confusion and problems of memory, and it allows renegotiation when necessary.
